OUR HISTORY
Progressive growth & diversity Since 1986
Established in 1986 by business partners Gary Harding and Malcolm Jackson, Triple i began providing process control and instrument solutions and services to industrial companies across the Illawarra region.
Originally named Illawarra Industrial Instrumentation, or iii, Triple i soon expanded to include electrical installation contractors as demand for more technical solutions grew.
In 1991, Triple i established an electrical construction division to keep up with the growing demand for electrical components. The new division allowed for better control and outcomes of projects, providing control solutions based on the Yokogawa DCS platform as well as using PLC’s.
During this period, a need for more turnkey solutions for control and automation was identified. As such a specific sales division began to specify and supply instruments and control hardware.
As the control engineering business grew, more PLC and SCADA solutions were delivered, diversifying into several industries including Mining, Steel, Water/Wastewater, Chemical, Oil & Gas, Energy, and other Manufacturing.
In 2015, Triple i established the mechanical division, identifying a need for more complete solutions for customers. Due to the expansion of service offerings beyond instruments and a more integrated solutions offering, the company rebranded to ‘Triple i’.
That same year, Triple i also became a recognised system integrator for Rockwell Automation, specialising in process control, functional safety, and factory automation.
Today, Triple I continue to provide integrated solutions for the process automation, electrical, instrument and mechanical needs of its customers throughout Australia, diversifying into related areas such as functional safety, EEHA (Hazardous Area Equipment), IIoT solutions, asset management, process improvement and plant services (which includes maintenance, calibrations, equipment audits, reliability, compliance, and sustainability reviews).
