ARDI-AR brings augmented reality to business and industry.
ARDI-AR makes it easy for staff to use your asset information by delivering it to them in the simplest way possible - by simply looking at the asset through their phone.
ALL DATA SOURCES IN ONE PLACE
ARDI-AR is designed to fit in with existing procedures and workflows, gathering the most important information into one ‘point of truth’ when you need it. This means you can access up-to-date information readily without the need for large data storage capabilities or the installation of new systems and data management plans.
CRITICAL DATA AT YOUR FINGERTIPS
Augmented reality turns your device into a powerful tool in the field.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
HOW DO AR MARKERS WORK IN AREAS OF DENSE INSTRUMENTATION?
In areas with multiple instrumentation or machinery, a single marker can be used to identify multiple assets. Instead of a separate marker for each asset, the single marker presents the user with a list of assets nearby which they can select from. Each item will be clearly identified by arrows, with the distance between each item also labelled.
WHAT IS AUGMENTED REALITY?
Augmented Reality (AR) is an enhanced version of the physical world that is achieved using digital visual elements, sound and other sensory stimuli delivered by technology.
ARDI-AR delivers information about assets and equipment by simply looking at an asset through a smart device.
Information can include live and historical data, manuals, specifications and safe work procedures, maintenance schedules and history, location information and relationships with other devices.
Information is clear, concise, and contextual depicting information about the asset and equipment nearby. ARDI-AR also provides alerts on faults or issues, allowing you to quality troubleshoot issues.
WHO CAN USE ARDI-AR?
Anyone can use ARDI-AR, with minimial training required.
As augmented reality is designed to give you information in the field, it is intended specifically for field technicians, operators, and maintenance staff.
ARDI-AR is easily installed on a field staff or contractors devise, whether phone or tablet, which is then used to scan the asset to reveal the critical information.
ARDI-AR ensures workers onsite are performing their roles under up-to-date procedures, with correct information about the system, and with vital feedback about their task.
WHAT ARE AR MARKERS?
An AR Marker is a distinct pattern, like a barcode, that a camera can easily recognise and process, which are visually independent of the surrounding environment. They are often basic black and white graphics that contain a unique ID. They can also be physical objects.
AR markers are used as they can be:
- read from a distance and at wide angles
- used to establish distance and orientation to the marker
- quick and easy to read, enabling multiple markers to be detectable at the same time.
AR markers can be placed on instruments, machines, and systems. It is recommended to use a marker on:
- Instruments when they are important to the process
- Machines and systems when the parts inside are not maintained individually.
DO WE NEED TO PROVIDE NEW DIVICES TO STAFF?
ARDI-AR operates on most iOS (Apple) and Android devices and well as Window operating tablets. The ARDI-AR application is free to download from Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.
Whether you have a pool of shared devices that are distributed amongst staff or users, or prefer users download the app onto their own devices, the is no requirement to purchase new devises or pay per-device licenses.
We do recommend; however, users install the app on their own device, which is a benefit as it reduces the outlay for the organisation. Most staff already have a smart phone, who are familiar with how to use it, and are comfortable with carrying it around.
If your plant or site operates within a challenging environment, including explosive atmospheres, a range of devices suitable are available. Contact us for a quote.
CAN ARDI-AR PROVIDE TUTORIALS ON COMPLEX TASKS?
Due to safety concerns, ARDI-AR is not currently designed to guide users through complex tasks with step-by-step-instructions overlaid onto their view of the asset. ARDI-AR is designed to provide the data behind the machine, with manuals, interactive checklists, and videos of the process.
Interactive tutorials are best effective when users are wearing an AR headset which allows for both hands to be free.
As ARDI-AR uses handheld devises, its safer to watch a video and then undertake the task separately. Not only does it make it hard to perform the task with one hand, but it also provides distractions which could impact on the process, the users safety and the plants performance.
